It has been successfully shown that children that read regularly excel better in all areas of life.  Therefore, we encourage our children to read as much as possible.  Your child should always have a reading book in their bag.  It is their responsibility to change their books when they are ready.  We expect parents to listen/supervise their child's reading as often as possible.  This may seem a high expection, but reading is an essential ingredient to good progress.

Your child has access to Reading Eggs so we expect regular use and a minimum of one book to be completed, including all comprehension tasks online.  This will be monitored on a weekly basis.

We will be doing PE with the Sport Coaches on a Tuesday and with the teacher on a Wednesday. Please ensure your child has the correct named PE kit and it is kept in school.  I will send PE kit home at each half-term holiday.

Homework will be sent home on a Friday and should be returned the following Wednesday.

Spellings to learn will be sent home on a Monday and the children will be tested on a Friday.  The children have access to Spelling Shed to provide support in their learning.

There will also be big projects from time to time that children will have longer to complete.

Snacks & Drinks

As a healthy eating school, we encourage children to drink throughout the day.  Water is the best drink for children to have as it is the healthiest and if spilt does not attact ants!

We intend to have lots of fun-filled topic days throughout the year where parents will be invited to discover what we have learnt at the end of the year.  This is an opportunity for children to share what they do at school and a great way to show an interest in your child's learning.
